Identifying and Prioritizing Social Determinants of Population Health in Iran: A Mixed Method Research

Background and Purpose: In recent decades, research has shown that social determinants of health (SDH) affect population more than medical care. Therefore, identifying the SDH become a top priority. Materials Methods: It is an explanatory-sequential mixed-method study. We used meta-synthesis method in first step to identify prioritize Iran. Then, identified factors were semantic map. Afterward, we fuzzy Delphi screen determine each factor’s importance Results: A total 172 classified into 4 levels: individual, local, national, global. After screening items, parental competence, hope, addiction, types pollution, inflation, unemployment rate (the crisp value defuzzification 9-10) are generally most important at individual national levels Conclusion: The resulting map demonstrates substantial effect non-health policies on Iran’s population. This finding proposes as complex comprehensive system needing interdisciplinary approach address its multiple determinants.
